The foundation of Pledge Purple begins with an extraordinary achievement. Pledge Prequel was named Cigar Aficionado’s 2020 No. 1 Cigar of the Year, earning an exceptional 98 rating — one of the highest honors in premium cigars.
That recognition established Pledge as one of the most celebrated blends in modern cigar history, setting a new benchmark for balance, craftsmanship, and complexity. Pledge Purple builds upon that legacy, drawing from the same remarkable origins that defined the original and elevating them into a rare and evolved expression.
Pledge Purple represents the next chapter in one of Casa Carrillo’s most celebrated stories.
Created to mark the five-year anniversary of Pledge Prequel — Cigar Aficionado’s 2020 Cigar of the Year — this release reflects patience, intention, and the belief that great tobacco reveals its true character only with time.
